Robyn S. Kravit

Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Tethys Research.

Robyn S. Kravit is an international business executive with over 30 years of experience in management and venture development, especially in Far East markets. Ms. Kravit provides advice to companies and consulting firms requiring additional Asian expertise on a project basis. She is also the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Tethys Research, a biotechnology start-up company.

Ms. Kravit began her career in international trade in 1975, and started working in China in 1976. She has established and directed significant China-based operations engaged in the international trading of industrial raw materials, negotiating more than $1 billion in trade contracts and joint-venture agreements. Ms. Kravit has experience in devising marketing plans that adapt to evolving political and economic environments and has managed every aspect of foreign trade transactions. She has also established and managed profitable new business operations in the U.S and abroad.

Ms. Kravit served on the Board of Directors of Willis Group Holdings Limited (NYSE: WSH), a leading global risk management and insurance brokerage firm, as a member of their Audit and Risk Committees from 2008 until 2016. She currently sits on the Advisory Boards of the Abbington Investment Group LLC and Motivo Ilnc. ln 2012, Ms. Kravit was appointed to the Standing Advisory Group (SAG) of the Public Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), an organization established by Congress to oversee the audits of public companies to promote investor protection.

Ms. Kravit became an NACD (National Association of Corporate Directors) Governance Fellow in 2011 and served on the Board of its the Capital Area chapter until 2017. She is a past President and Director of FONZ, the organization which manages commercial and educational activities for Smithsonian’s National Zoological Park. She previously served on the Advisory Council of Johns Hopkins University’s Whiting School of Engineering, the Board of Governors of the Washington Foreign Law Society and the Eisenhower Institute.

A graduate of Vassar College, Ms. Kravit attended Stanford University’s Program for Chinese Language Studies in Taiwan, and earned her Master’s degree at Harvard University. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
