Lowell D. Grissom
Brother of Astronaut Virgil I. “Gus” Grissom
Mr. Grissom was born in Mitchell, Indiana, the son of Dennis and Cecile Grissom and brother of Astronaut Virgil I. “Gus” Grissom. He graduated from Indiana University, and was employed by McDonnell Douglas as Director of Sales and Marketing in the Information Systems Group. He was President of Professional Event Planners, Inc., from 1987 to 2010. And, was selected as a member of the U.S. Registry’s WHO’s WHO of leading American executives.
He is a past member of the Board of Directors for the Astronaut Memorial Foundation, and currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for AMF. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Apollo 1 Memorial Foundation, and an advisor to the Board of The Space Museum in Bonne Terre, Missouri.
Mr. Grissom has spoken nationally about his famous brother, Astronaut Gus Grissom and the space program, and has appeared in the Discovery Channel Documentaries, “WHEN WE LEFT EARTH: The NASA Missions,” and “Liberty Bell 7, The Lost Spacecraft.” He also appears in the Purdue video, “BOILERMAKERS-Gus Grissom.”
He resides in O’Fallon, Missouri with his wife Bobette, and has a son, John and a daughter, Susan.
