Lauren comes to Challenger Center with experience developing curricula in both formal and informal education settings. She began her career teaching high school Chemistry and Physics in southeast Washington, DC where she developed her passion for making quality STEM education accessible to all students. Prior to joining Challenger Center, she worked as the Curriculum Coordinator at For Love of Children, an education non-profit in Washington, DC. There, she created and adapted curriculum for students grades 1-12 who are below grade level in reading and math, trained new volunteers on the curricula, and oversaw a weekly tutoring program for middle and high school students.
Lauren holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and being outside as much as possible.
