Co-Founder and CLO & Head of Operations of Off World, Inc., Pro Bono Counsel
Josh is Co-Founder and CLO of Off-World, Inc., a revolutionary off-Earth infrastructure company, and is the Principal of IzenbergLaw PLLC. He serves as Challenger Center’s Pro Bono Counsel and is a member of the advisory boards of three local technology startups. Prior to his current roles, Josh was Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, and General Counsel of the aerospace and defense businesses, at Alliant Techsystems (ATK), a Fortune 500 provider of aerospace, defense and sporting products. Before ATK, Josh was General Counsel at Versar and Deputy General Counsel at Alion Science and Technology. Josh started his legal career as an Associate in the Corporate & Securities Group at Baker & McKenzie LLP.
Josh has deep technical expertise in M&A, finance, securities and corporate structuring and governance, and provides legal advice across a wide range of other subject matter areas, including joint ventures, capital raising, commercial and government contracting, real estate, employee benefits and corporate policies. Josh also provides interim CFO services to small companies, with a focus on debt capital structuring, banking relationships, covenant maintenance and compliance and internal financial reporting.
In addition to Josh’s seventeen years of experience as a senior in-house lawyer at start-up, mid-market and Fortune 500 companies, Josh also has experience as an entrepreneur. In 2011, he co-founded Modus Create, an app development business based in the Washington, DC area.
Josh received an MBA with honors from Georgetown University, where he finished second in his class, and he holds a law degree from the University of Toronto, and a B.Sc. in Computer Science with Great Distinction from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Josh is an alumnus of the 1997 Space Studies Program at the International Space University and was a Founding Delegate of the United Nations’ Space Generation Forum and the Space Generation Advisory Council.
