Cheryl Burris is a member of the Education Team which creates STEM-centered programs and products that are delivered to students in Challenger Learning Centers and K-12 school settings. She develops and implements programs and products including creative development and design, content and curriculum creation, and standards alignment. She also manages relationships with program stakeholders which include Challenger Center teams, Challenger Learning Centers, partner organizations, and vendors. Ms. Burris also plays a substantial role in the management of grant-funded programs, contribution to reports for key-stakeholders, and the development and execution of the annual education department plan to meet Challenger Center strategic goals.
Prior to joining the Challenger Center, Ms. Burris has held a variety of positions and taught every age of students from elementary school through adults throughout her 22+ years of educational experience. In addition to her time in the classroom, she also has experiences as a program developer, management and program analyst, training and instruction designer, career counselor, curriculum developer and designer, and even as a chef. Ms. Burris earned dual Master of Education degrees in Learning, Design, & Technology and Adult Education as well as two professional certifications in Educational Technology Integration and Distance Education from Penn State University. Additionally, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Fayetteville State University and her Instructor Certification from the U.S. Army.
