Anne Ellis

Founder and CEO, Ellis Global

Anne Ellis is founder of Ellis Global, a management and technical services firm assisting the engineering and construction industries with business and industry growth, innovation and transformation. Prior to launching her own company, Ms. Ellis was Vice President, Innovation + Knowledge Share Director at AECOM and responsible for the development and shaping of an innovation portfolio across a range of industries including energy, environmental, water, transportation and buildings. Additionally, she oversaw the development and articulation of AECOM’s enterprise sustainability agenda.

Recognized in the field of concrete, Ms. Ellis served as the 90th president of the American Concrete Institute (ACI), leading authority and resource worldwide for the development and distribution of consensus-based standards, technical resources, and educational programs for concrete design, construction, and materials. Ms. Ellis is coauthor of the ‘Concrete Design and Construction’ Chapter, of the Standard Handbook for Civil Engineers, Fifth Edition. In 2013, she was named ‘Most Influential People in Concrete Construction’ by Concrete Construction magazine.

In addition to serving on the Challenger Center Board, Ms. Ellis serves by appointment of the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to the Environmental Technologies Trade Advisory Committee. She serves on the Board of Directors of the National Institute of Building Sciences, Board of the Structural Engineering Institute Futures Fund, and the Carbon Upcycling UCLA Advisory Board. Ms. Ellis served as a judge for NASA’s Centennial Challenges: 3D-Printed Habitat Challenge, 2017.

Ms. Ellis is a graduate of Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA. She is a 2007 inductee into the Virginia Tech Via Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Academy of Distinguished Alumni, and a 2013 inductee into the Virginia Tech Academy of Engineering Excellence. Ms. Ellis is a llicensed professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia since 1984
