GARRIOTT SCIENCE CHALLENGEFrom Star City, Russia

Activities below are subject to change at any time.

Richard Garriott plans to record science demonstrations of basic science principles while on board the International Space Station. His father, NASA Astronaut Dr. Owen Garriott, did many similar activities while on board the NASA Skylab space station in the 1970s. These are activities you can do at home or in your classroom, and they cover a variety of science topics and concepts!

To learn more about basic science principles of fluid behavior, mechanics, magnetism, particle physics (radiation), crystals and life sciences, try out one of the activities below, and then submit a prediction about what will happen when this activity is done by Richard Garriott in space.

We will post some of our student’s predictions and look ahead to seeing the demonstrations during and after Richard’s flight this October 2008!
