Visit the Future Career simulations in which families work with a practicing scientist and take on the role of scientists to tackle a problem in that field as a team. These two-hour programs are offered at Challenger Learning Centers in the evening. Discovery Missions Problem-solving scenarios which culminate in flying a mission. Activities based on current NASA exploration projects will build on content knowledge and teamwork skills to prepare participants for their roles in the mission. These four-hour programs are scheduled at CLCs on Saturdays. Crew Training Family teamwork simulations available for parents and children to do at home before and after the mission students fly as a school activity. Multiple activities average a half-hour each in length. Lunar Challenge Features open-ended design problems for families to tackle as they create physical models. Challenges are staffed by program facilitators (Project Directors), supported by community mentors, and offered in local facilities (often a school) as four two-hour sessions over several weeks. |
