Mission Scenarios
Red Station Down
This scenario is set in the year 2076. Beagle Base on Mars has lost contact with Earth and a brave crew of astronauts are needed to get it back. This one-hour mission is run most weekends, and is open to the visitors of the National Space Centre. It’s a fun filled hour of excitement and learning, and gives our many public visitors the chance to experience a Challenger mission.
Corporate Rendezvous with a Comet
The Rendezvous with a Comet mission has been adapted for adult groups. Communication and team working skills are enforced and encouraged throughout this 3-hour simulation. It enables corporate groups to take on practical problems that can be related directly to the workplace. Three Flight Directors guide them through this process with emergencies and problems being commonplace.
Mission Instructor Training
Mission Instructor Training is offered to all teachers who have booked missions. Taking place after school hours, it gives teachers a taste of what to expect on mission day. It also shows how students can be better prepared for a mission, and what they can expect to gain from the Challenger experience.
