A physician from North Carolina. A NASA engineer from Houston, Texas. A student from Texas. Each person comes from a different background and location. Each has a unique perspective. All share a common experience.
In one way or another, they have each been touched by a Challenger Center program. One has fond memories of a mission flown at a Learning Center many years ago. Another hopes to bring that same experience to thousands of students in the town he calls home. Yet another shares his passion for science and his knowledge of space to students in rural communities. And then there is the teacher who was one of the first students to fly a mission simulation at the Houston Museum of Natural Science in 1988. She now brings her students to the same Challenger Learning Center.
We invited a varied group of people to tell us stories about their Challenger Center experiences. We wanted to know their memories of the Challenger Space Shuttle crew, and how they feel about continuing that crew's education mission.
Through these stories, you will discover something about them, but also about us. Our mission—to inspire, to explore, and to learn—continues to resonate.
