Marcia Jarvis-Tinsley
Marcia Jarvis is the widow of Payload Specialist Gregory Jarvis, a Hughes Aircraft engineer. Marcia continues to serve as a Founding Director for Challenger Center for Space Science Education. She has worked as a guidance counselor for troubled youths and, although originally from Connecticut, now makes her home in Mammoth Lakes, California.
Steven McAuliffe
Originally from Massachusetts, Steven McAuliffe now lives in Concord, New Hampshire, where he serves as a Federal judge. He is the widower of Christa McAuliffe, NASA's Teacher in Space candidate. Steve continues to serve as a Founding Director for Challenger Center for Space Science Education. He has two children, Scott and Caroline, and has remarried.
Cheryl McNair
Cheryl McNair is the widow of veteran astronaut and Mission Specialist Ronald McNair. Cheryl continues to serve as a Founding Director for Challenger Center for Space Science Education, the educational organization founded by the seven Challenger family members to continue the crew's mission. Originally from South Carolina, she now makes her home in Houston, Texas, with her two children, Reginald and Joy.
Lorna Onizuka
Lorna Onizuka is originally from Hawaii, as was her husband, veteran astronaut Ellison Onizuka. Lorna continues to serve as a Founding Director for Challenger Center for Space Science Education. She has two daughters, Janelle and Darien, and lives in Houston, Texas. She currently works for the National Space Development Agency of Japan.
Charles Resnik, M.D.
Chuck Resnik is the brother of Mission Specialist Judith Resnik. Chuck serves as Vice Chairman of the Board and as a Founding Director for Challenger Center for Space Science Education. He is an Ohio native, and is now a radiologist in Baltimore, Maryland.
June Scobee Rodgers, Ph.D.
June Scobee Rodgers, orginally from Alabama, is the widow of Challenger Space Shuttle Commander Dick Scobee. June serves as the Founding Chairman of the Board and as a Founding Director for Challenger Center for Space Science Education. Holding a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University and a Master's from Chapman College, both in Curriculum and Instruction, she is personally proud of the fact that she has taught in every grade-level classroom from Kindergarten through college. June is married to retired Army Lieutenant General Don Rodgers. They live in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The Rodgers have three grown children.
Jane Smith Wolcott
Jane Smith Wolcott is a North Carolina native, and is the widow of Challenger Pilot Michael Smith. Jane continues to serve as a Founding Director for Challenger Center for Space Science Education. She has three children, Scott, Allison, and Erin. Now remarried, she makes her home in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
